Delighted to say that two novels that editorial.ie has worked on, “Songs of All Poets” and “An Emu War”, are among the 39 titles long-listed for the 2016 Bath Novel Award. Our fingers are firmly crossed!

One of the great bonuses about working as an editor is that when an author you have worked with goes on to achieve success, you can vicariously share the thrill. Of course, awards aren’t everything, and the long-list isn’t winning the award itself, but it’s still a huge achievement, a massive step forward that gains credibility and exposure, and a superb vindication of the work that the author has put in over the years.

As the lottery people say, “It could be you”. Unlike the lottery however, it will require a lot of hard work on your part (and a good editor!)
